One Step Beyond

The new deck was put down on Saturday but, before the final boards were laid, I took the opportunity to cut some of the rot out of the old sleeper that marks the border between the lawn and the deck. Unfortunately, that left a big hole so I needed to make a step from some offcuts, to fill the gap. Didn’t have any specific plan in mind, just made it up as I went along, ensuring everything was screwed into decent timber to make it as stable as possible.
Quite pleased with the end result. It certainly seems strong enough, and if you can zoom in on the spirit level you will see it is actually level! Very glad I got it all finished in the sunshine of yesterday evening, as it’s absolutely hoyed it down all day today.
Which has meant it’s been a typical Lake District Bank Holiday Monday - stuck indoors watching telly! I did manage a quick workout in the gym though. Still no sign of any reaction to yesterday’s second jab which is good.
And thereby ends another exciting day, where the only thing worth blipping actually happened the day before! I’m hoping for better weather later in the week so we can actually get out of the house and do something!
