A farm in Lurgashall
This morning was sunny and bright, where was the horrible wet weather that had been forecast? Taking advantage of the sunshine Gavin, Xena and I went for another run through the woods which at 7.30am is simply beautiful, birds singing in the trees and and only one or two cyclists about.
After breakfast we headed down to Lurgashall in Sussex to meet up with our friends for a walk in the bluebell woods followed by a pub lunch outside. We got there late as 'someone' could not follow the satnav instructions properly as he was 'not used to the satnav in this car, which is different to the one in his car'! Two wrong turnoffs and detours to get back on the the A3 but we eventually got there!
The walk was lovely, through pretty farmlands with many lambs and sheep, and of course many bluebells. But as we are probably a bit bluebelled out by now I thought I would show this pretty scene of a farm we walked past, looking very spring like with the willow in full leaf and the daffodils. It was great to see our friends again who we had not seen since last summer.
By now there was a horrendous wind, strong and icy cold - we ate our lunch as quickly as we could as we were all very cold sitting outside. In fact we left the table and stood elsewhere to drink our after meal coffees as the tarpaulin over the tables was flapping so wildly in that wind it was pulling the anchoring wooden poles almost out the ground, and I did not fancy being struck by a flying pole! After we stood up the staff came and took the tarpaulin roof down as it was too dangerous to sit under in that wind. Such lousy weather, but hope is on the horizon, I think the temperatures are finally inching back up to normal levels for this time of year by next weekend.
As for the finale of Line of Duty last night - watched by nearly 13 million people and achieving record viewings, it even made news headlines this morning - and the ending...a bit of a damp squib I thought, surely there has to be another season?
