What a difference a day makes!
Woke up to sunshine ....hooray. So had a trip towards Eskdale and the Muncaster Fells. The first incline brought us up to Muncaster Tarn where the Geese were making themselves known (see extra). We then were afforded some fabulous views of the higher snow topped mountains. We thoroughly enjoyed walking along the ridge before dropping down onto the Esk Trail for our return journey. The only downside being the last hill which seemed to drag on for a long time!
We heard the Ravenglass and Eskdale railway running up the valley which brought back memories of visiting it when our three were small. The highlight being the turntable at Eskdale Green where the train turned round for its return journey. Lots of small birds were flitting about including pairs of Stonechats.
A grand day in the hills
