The star-crossed queen of Wincobank Hill
Another little discovery in the course of the ArtUK sculpture/photography project I've been volunteering for, since late 2019.
Richard had spotted an online reference to a 'constellation map' on Wincobank Common. We set off, expecting to find something a bit overgrown and/or 'distressed' by the passage of time and human attention.
But no. The Queen is in good shape, and she is lovely. There is some information about it all on this community page:

Wincobank overlooks Sheffield's East End, with its current blend of abandoned industrial sites and the eclectic mix of boxy buildings and stop-start initiatives that have grown up in the place of heavy industry. Like much of Sheffield, it is all looking a bit the worse for wear at the moment. Aren't we all...
However, the constellation map was a great discovery, and the Common itself is lovely too. We watched swallows swooping overhead, careering around in their search for food.
And we're keeping fingers and toes crossed for the outcome of today's elections.... though we are also bracing ourselves for some disappointments (from a Labour Party perspective).
