Coot chicks
At last I have seen some coot chicks in the park. These gloriously ugly but delightful chicks were following their parents around the lake waiting to be fed. The parents were kept very busy!
I also managed to photograph the nuthatches again. Both birds were constantly flying off to find bugs and insects and then bringing them back to the nesting hole in the tree. Clearly there must be young inside.
Even with a 400mm lens (the longest I own) I couldn't fill the frame with the birds, but for web use I can crop some of the images quite heavily and they are still very sharp. You can see a selection in my Flickr album here.
