New to me recipe
Chestnut and chickpea roast was definitely a winner today. There was a lot of prep which I was pleased I had done first thing as it took a while, extra photo everything chopped, grated and ready to go. The result was well worth the effort and it will be a 'repeater.'
The weather is still so disappointing with temperatures struggling to get much above freezing even during the the day! There were a few glimpses of the sun which was lovely but it is certainly in short supply so far this month! Looking around there are still so many trees with almost zero leaves on them. As this year progresses I am definitely veering away from the hard work of vegetable growing next year. Everything is still so tiny that I can't imagine it having enough time to grow to anything like a decent size before the so called 'hot season' has been and gone! I think next year my aim will be a colourful garden over an edible one.
Just over a week to go before I travel to London and mum gets the keys to her new home. It has felt like an eternity getting this far and I'm so looking forward to my visit on many levels as hopefully I will also be able to see, and spend a little time with, all my grandchildren during that time.
I'm still wrestling with the neckline of the t-shirt I'm sewing. Having watched a few YouTube videos today I know where I've gone wrong and I'm doing my best to correct it, or at least make it look the best I can. Next time it will be perfect!!
I've fished a few things from my wardrobe that I want to alter a little as they are now too big and don't sit right. I am hoping for some summery weather for my week away where I can wear something that isn't thermal and a pair of warm trousers!
Charlotte is going to mum's today to take her for her second vaccination, which is great news as mum was keen to have it before she moved. She had no ill effects after the first so I'm hoping this time will be the same.
