Project 365 day 130: stripes
Today they cut the grass in the large field beside our house - the opposite side to the field currently occupied by the sheep. The road into the village is behind the hedge to the left. I thought the stripes would be fun to photograph; as well as these curving stripes running parallel to the hedge, there was a wide expanse of straight stripes converging as they ran down into the valley. Some day I will have more sophisticated editing software and know how to remove the telephone cables which run across most of my photos of the valley and look far more intrusive in photos than they seem in real life.
It was a beautiful afternoon: I sorted out the rest of the overcrowded beetroot seedlings from C into individual modules, where I hope they will perk up a bit before being planted out. P eats a lot of beetroot with his morning toast, fresh for as long as we have it, with pickled in reserve. Last summer and autumn I pickled 24 large jars to take him through the winter. I'm not sure if they will last until the new season's harvest begins.
