A walking day

Yesterday we went to the north coast of Kent to Reculver, a hamlet which seems to be full of rather large, smart, static caravan/homes. It is set on the edge of cliffs looking out over the north sea out to the Kentish Flats windfarm and beyond. It is best known however, for the Reculver Towers and Roman fort remains seen in this photo. The two large towers are the remains of St. Mary's church added in the12th century to earlier Roman ruins and a Anglo Saxon church from 669.
It was a glorious day, the sun shone and the sky was blue, lots of birds - Swallows and Skylarks high above - and almost underfoot - there were areas where we were asked not to go because of the ground nesting of skylarks.
Extras show (if you look hard) the Kentish Flats windfarm which produces up to 90 megawatts of electricity.
