Our glorious apple tree blossom.
A blip in the bag early in the day. I caught a glimpse of the apple blossom reflected in the pond as I came downstairs. A few shots later this was the result.
Another Wednesday routine. Susan went fir another visit to the bone cracker while I went to the allotment. We walked in the afternoon, ending up at Doreen’s for an appointment with a rep from a live in respite care provider. So things are looking up. Still more legwork to be done.
A big bombshell landed in the inbox and on Facebook with the announcement that the Parish Council had been given some land by a local family and wanted to create new allotments on it. They want to use our current plots for an extension to the tennis courts and a larger carpark while creating new plots for us on a grassed area.
It may be a good thing for us but I’m annoyed that the Council hadn’t the courtesy to consult with us before announcing their plans. They’d obviously consulted with the tennis club as their press release said two new courts and two new paddle tennis courts would be provided.
We only knew from an email a few minutes before the Facebook post. I can see we’re going to have a fight to get the best provision we can for the new site and have help to move. Many of us have established fruit trees and bushes and people have asparagus beds too. And I suspect we’d have to dismantle and move our own sheds.
