As did the fact that we seem to have a touch of chlorosis.  Looks like a spot of Sequestrene© &/or MgSO4 might be in order.
Alice did get to see it flower - BUT - not to the extent it promises this year, I've never seen as many buds; I think it must be promising a display of about, guessimetrically=Σ previous three years.
IF it lives up to promise it'll get displayed.  You do need to stick your hooter close up but it has a nice scent, a bit unusual for a Rhodo.
You'll notice they're a bit of a fairish size too?
