First Sandcastles
of 2013. On Mothers Day
3years 140days.
Katie refused to build sand sandcastles today. She wanted to create wonders out of stones and pebbles. As Grandad said as we played, pity we forgot our cement. She had a wonderful time on the beach. Playing with the pebbles, running up and down the ramps to the sand, exploring around the beach chalets. And Mummy, Grandad & Granny did too. Being beside the North Sea makes me happy in a way nowhere else does. Especially when, as today, it is very windy and whipping the sea up a treat.
After a play on the beach we drove to a rather lovely garden centre with a restaurant for a carvery lunch. She ate a huge mountain of carrots, potatoes, ham, yorkshire pudding. She'd chosen a "chocolate" lumpy bumpy (their label) but it turned out to be coffee, so she just ate its' chocolate stars for pudding. We then had a wander round the garden centre, or "that ace cheap zoo" as my brother calls it. She said hello to all the fish and spent a long time laughing at me showing her the venus fly traps in action, using a plant tag.
We then went to softplay and met my friends Helen & Tracy. Katie had a run round with Granny & Grandad before we all had a drink, then I had a run round with Katie. She began to flag by about 3.45, after doing brilliantly all day! We brought Granny & Grandad home with us for some tea, before her and I curled up for stories on the sofa. She fell asleep in my arms as I sang twinkle twinkle to her.
