Evening Larches & Field Bluets

I really wanted to combine these two photos into one image somehow but just didn't have the time or energy to get it done right. The experience I wanted to capture was how, looking across the field, the ground appears rather scrubby and mostly brown, but when you walk out into it and look close there are beautiful patches of color and texture. Pretty soon the bugs will come out in force and then it's really not so enjoyable to wander around out there, so it's good to take the time to appreciate it before that happens.
