Rusty Rabbit Redux In The Rain

Today's image is another back garden shot and represents the weather we are experiencing at the moment. After one of the driest April's on record (barely any sign of April showers) we have now had heavy rain showers on each of the last few days and the long range forecast is that this could last for up to two weeks!
The picture itself consists of one of our garden hedges, our overgrown back lawn (all that rain and then the sun coming out has made the grass feel like it is on steroids!), my sister's multicoloured stripey umbrella and a small rusty rabbit sculpture that I think we bought at a farmers' market.
Part of the title of today's image was suggested by my brother - I was looking for some alliteration and my brother said he remembered the name of a John Updike novel - Rabbit Redux.
As I was using it in my title I thought I would find out some more details - never having read a John Updike novel. It is the follow up to Rabbit, Run and was published in 1971. It follows the life, trials and tribulations of the former high-school basketball star Harry "Rabbit" Angstrom. They are supposed to be a brilliant series of books so I will have to consider adding them to my reading list.
The standard meaning of redux is something that happens all over again - which you could interpret as a reference to the continual rain showers but I prefer the elaborate John Updike explanation!
It's funny what journeys blip can lead you on!
