The willow wept

Our neighbour’s mature willow was given a zero grade cut. We all thought it had died. The cold spring did not do anything to reassure us. However, these shoots burgeoning on every limb are proof that we were all wrong! It will weep gently this year but be back to its full torrent next year.

There was an interesting divergence between PM and FM this evening over the impact of the spread of the Indian variant of C-19. The populist PM bowed to his English people and did not lock down Bolton. The nationalist FM was not “feart” of hers and took the tough call to keep Moray and Glasgow in level 3 on Monday when the rest of us bound unfettered into level 2. Respect, irrespective of any partisanship.
