Early purple orchid (photobombed)

I had a quiet morning at home.

This afternoon, I went to Paradise, the riverside at Barrasford, and walked through the woods. Last year I photographed the early purple orchids early in May. They are in bloom, but much later.

I also saw three plants of Herb Paris, but not in flower yet. Everyone is commenting that the season is later than usual.

I had Paradise to myself and the woods too. Red campion, wild garlic (ransoms), Jack in the hedge (garlic mustard), primroses, dog violets, water avens, dog's mercury and bluebells were all in evidence.

I have found a caterer for Mum's birthday party. Now I just need to find some one who can supply a marquee on the day....
