last snowfall of the year?

Last week when I went out for a walk with my short sleeves on and came back heralding the arrival of spring to the people with whom I share my section of the coalface, one colleague (a doggy person) said "it will snow this weekend, it always snows on Crufts weekend". I thought she was being over dramatic which is her natural state, however seems she was right and I was wrong.
