Black Crowned Night Heron Juvenile

So happy to see this chunky heron which are rarely active or visible during the day. It’s 7 years since I last saw one, an adult which looks so very different. This photo of an adult, was taken from my kayak https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/4423912  . They really should be called Blue Crowned Night Herons because they are blue as far as I can see if you look them up on the internet.
