Slavonian Grebes - Scotland Trip

This morning we went in search of the rare Slavonian Grebe. We found a breeding pair, but didn't get too close so as not to disturb them. [This is a heavily cropped image]. These birds are protected, and I won't give away the exact  location, except to say that it was somewhere south of Inverness and a long way north of my house. The weather wasn't great, but we managed to avoid much of the rain.

In the afternoon we went in search of Golden Eagles, but didn't see any. We saw plenty of Buzzards and the Red Kite in the extras made a short flight over my head. It disappeared as quickly as it arrived.

I don't think Golden Eagles like dull grey skies.
