WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

Starlings

I was watching the news this morning and heard a racket out the back.
I grabbed my phoned and went slowly towards the kitchen window.
The starlings had crowded on the feeding station and others were flying on and off the archway. They were mostly babies I think and one parent was feeding them.
We had to move the feeders close to the house while Frank was building the greenhouse and I didn’t think the birds would come so near but it’s been busy with sparrows, starlings, collared doves and the odd blackbird.
The Jackdaws have stayed away though. I need to fix something up for them at the other end.

The other day we saw lots of little birds circling above and when I put my varifocals on I could see they were goldfinches, they didn’t land though. I hope they come to the feeder as I have special finch food.

It’s another wet day. I am keeping my leg elevated most of the time but managing to walk a bit too so I might get some little jobs done today.
I got a phone call from X-ray dept and I’m booked in for Monday at 8.40 am.
Our visitors from N Ireland will be here but they’ll be having breakfast at that time and we’ll be back for 9.30.

We’re hoping the weather will be dry enough to take them on the boat down to Skipton. The kids want to go to the skate park and to Sasparilla the old fashioned sweetie shop.

I started a new book but can’t quite get into it - it’s called Everything Under
by Daisy Johnson. Pity because it has a lovely cover! (Yes I do judge!) I found it in the box at the bus shelter.

Well, I must get on with doing something - not sure what yet.
Thanks for the comments, stars and hearts.
