River of Flowers

Friday: Veggies

Wind has dropped but showers all morning.
Did a bit of sewing which has needed doing for a few months - removing a frayed hem (on the long edge!) of a bath towel, then sewing through 3 thicknesses of towel ... slow and steady, didn’t snap the needle, didn’t snap the thread ... not Sewing Bee but now have a functional bath towel, repair/reuse/recycle ...!
Comfrey has been blown by wind and flattened by the rain, it’s covering the path, so needed cutting back but won’t go to waste - chopped comfrey and kale trimmings covered with thick layer of lawn clippings and old plastic compost bag weighed down with bricks will break down quickly and be perfect for courgette plants  in a few weeks time ... did these little jobs during a very brief dry half hour, it was raining again by the time I finished :-((
Blip of green and purple dwarf beans growing on bedroom windowsill, tomato plants in the greenhouse and the Sea Beet which survived its “transplant”.
Nice phone chat with Jo this afternoon xx
Picked handful of sea cabbage sprouting heads to have with pasta.
Happy weekend ... hope the weather is kind to you!
Stay safe & healthy & happy everyone :-)
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
