Out for a Walk
The weather was nice this morning, a reprieve between two low-pressure systems, and we decided to go for a walk at lunchtime - just the usual round through vineyards, orchards and meadows.
Our timing worked well. We didn't encounter many hikers and cyclists, walked in sunshine and enjoyed the views over the Rhine valley. The wind started to pick up just after we got home, and it's now raining again.
The fields are full of flowers, like this meadow geranium. And when we walked though the woods at nearby Schloss Freudenberg, we had to be careful not to pick up tiny hitch-hikers. Winter moth caterpillars were just abseiling down from the trees, and a few of them hung in midair, almost invisible against the green background (see extra).
