Memorial
It was feeling like 3° when I went for the paper this morning and 6° when I went out two hours later for shopping and a look round the local bookshop. On the way home I saw this cherry tree in the Meadows decorated with ribbons and messages in support of Sarah Everard who was murdered in London last month while walking home in the evening after visiting a girlfriend.
This is the first time I have passed it since then and found it makes a colourful alternative to the now faded cherry blossom.
The inevitable rain appeared after lunch but by then I was ensconced with a friend for an afternoon of blether- friends against the weather.
