Bee on Aubretia

It's been a day of pottering, in and out of the house as the sun was out. Tony has returned from the earth's core and done an excellent job of readying the edge of the patio for the new gate when it returns from the powder coating folks.

Before I donned my running gear for a hobble with S (WilsdenWalker), I wandered in the garden with my camera.  The cotoneaster is not yet in bloom but already there were several bees attempting to break in to the buds which are on the sunny side of the shrub.  When it does bloom it will be covered in bees and yet the flowers are so simple and small.  There must be something very attractive about it.  There were also a few bees on the aubretia which is past its best now.

We pushed ourselves further on our hobble tonight, heading uphill for some distance to start, but it was worth it for the views running back across the moor.
