Book Sale
There were regular book sales in the village hall pre-covid. They were a good way to raise money to pay for its upkeep. Even at five books for £2, hundreds of pounds were added to the coffers over a weekend.
This weekend the sale was back! We had to book time slots and wear masks, but it was all very leisurely, there were no great hoards! Behind the stage there is a small permanent, mostly fiction, book room, where only three people were allowed at a time. There was a bit of a queue but it was very relaxed and good natured. All very well organised.
Usually at these sales, there are raffle tickets sold and the cafe is open for soups and puddings. Hopefully they'll be back eventually!
