Roe Deer
Our last full day in Norfolk and it was better than expected. The wind blew and it was decidedly chilly for the end of May, but we didn't get wet, so we were happy. We went to WWT Welney and had a good day. 2 more new birds for this year - Whooper Swan and Yellow Wagtail - bringing our trip total to 14 new birds, but no real rarities to be honest. But we have thoroughly enjoyed our week visiting some of the reserves in the area and relaxing in the evenings since we had no internet to speak of.
The light was very poor today and the birds very distant, so in the end I gave up taking shots as they were so bad, but I was surprised to see this lovely Roe Deer pop up near one of the hides. It was eating on one side of a ditch and eventually jumped over the said ditch, but do you think I managed to get a shot of it jumping? Of course I didn't!
