Radiating Lillies

I can remember long ago when zoom lenses were beyond my means, I read about zoom burst images. Even though I've owned zooms for many years, I had never tried blurring by changing focal length. Yesterday's ISM shots inspired me to try.

I doubt today's result would be considered exemplary, but I think interesting nonetheless. It seems as though light is emanating from underneath the lilly pad. Mysterious.

Of course I naturally placed the subject centrally for maximum effect, but it occurs to me now I could try other combinations.
