Feeding time?

Do bees feed on pollen and nectar from flowers? Or just collect pollen and nectar to take to the hive to covert to something else they feed on? Another google enquiry needed.

I blipped one of the alliums on 9 May about to open. They are now providing bursts of colour in the garden.
