Spent a good few hours at the allotment today but quite a few more hours are needed to get it tidied up again. The spuds are going great guns but just about everything else has struggled with the cold weather. The cucumbers should have taken OK under their cloches but instead are looking really peely-wally so I built them some frames to at least lift them away from slug attack and maybe give them a chance to recover. Fingers crossed. Not much point hoeing in wet soil so I weeded by hand, searching for seedlings as I went. The rocket is fine but then it grows like a weed and the self-seeding coriander is pretty much indomitable, otherwise there’s not much happening. I was tempted to re-seed but it’s meant to get warmer this weekend so I’ll wait for a bit in case any dormant seeds decide to spring into life. Fingers and toes crossed.
A reduced attendance at the quiz tonight but a good time none the less. Catch ups are always good.
