Among the buttercups
A beautiful day, and we took advantage of it to go for a walk down Xwaaqw'um. There are an incredible number of buttercups and daisies in the fields, although this field has only buttercups for some reason.
After lunch, I spent some time working in the garden and killing tent caterpillars. I added an extra of one on the house. They're everywhere. We're trying to keep them out of the garden because they will eat veggies, but it's an ongoing battle. The one in the photo has a white dot on its head, which apparently means that a wasp has laid its eggs on it. "Tent caterpillars are attacked by parasitic wasps in both the egg and larval forms. These parasites lay eggs on the caterpillar eggs or on their bodies. The larva hatch out, and then consume the eggs or caterpillars from the inside out." (from sciencing.com)
The second extra is a white spider on a petunia. I think it's a crab spider (Misumena vatia). I didn't kill it.
