Star of the forest

This gem of a flower is for all you northerners and Scandinavians. It’s UK name is chickweed wintergreen, but far nicer is it’s Norse name - star of the forest. Found in Scots and Northumbrian and other N European pine woods, it’s more a relative of primula and cyclamen. We saw it in the local woods on a short leg stretch stroll having a lazy day after yesterday’s epic. Sunset over Ben Wyvis was rather fine too - see extra.
