Early more sunshine
I was at the kingfishers’ spot around 7 having ignored the alarm at 6. A chap was already there and had seen nothing which vindicated my decision to get another hours sleep. After a somewhat confused conversation during which he thought I said there were parakeets in Victoria Park (I actually said coot chicks) he left and I stayed another half hour or so, and saw nothing. So I think I will return to my random watchings which seem to have more success.
It was a gloriously warm morning, the blip is the early morning sun falling on the walls of the railway bridge with the road bridge beyond. The river was very low, with a good chance of dippers had I stayed a bit longer.
Later I spent some time with Liv while L had a shower and then I took Islay for a walk in Queens Park – where there are coot chicks, not yet in the water. The nests were too far out in the pond to get a decent shot of their yellow ruffled heads.
