Apparently a Marsh Frog
The first I have seen thanks to blippers, Alijay and Wildmint (in extra, hoping for the woodpeckers to come to a nest) who I met at the Grand Marais near Bex. I didn’t even know this pond existed till a week ago and it is only 15 minutes away from home! Some of these frogs are still calling. Unfortunately there is a lot of algae bloom on the pond and our garden pond has too. This seems to have killed off most of our tadpoles. The water has gone from about 10 degrees to 20 degrees in a few days and their little bodies have cooked!
Preston was at the vet’s again this morning, he has horrible scabs on his throat and face. The vet is sure he has been in a fight, poor baby. He just wants to be friendly with the other neighbourhood cats.
Thanks so much for your appreciation of yesterday’s sunrise fox in the snow. He was worth getting up early for!
