Well well well

Tonight I went outside for some air and as I stepped off of the front steps I had a sudden surprise. A duck came flapping loudly from my left side out of a bush, and gave me a good scare.

It’s been doing that a lot lately so tonight I took a look beneath the brush where it came from. And much to my surprise, there was a nest full of eggs.

So she’s trying to raise a family. I can respect that. She should be able to do that with some sense of safety.

So for there foreseeable future we’ll give her some space, walk far around her hideout. And hope she’s hidden enough from her natural enemies.
