2021 Monday — Memorial Day

California’s Central Coast did not forget—numerous events were held today in honor of the men and women who have given their lives to protect this nation we call America. The Cayucos-Morro Bay District Cemetery lined the grounds with flags.

A heavy blanket of overcast gray shrouded our community and coastline today. A fuzzy fog hugged the ground until almost 11:00, so it wasn’t exactly barbecue weather. That didn’t matter; the diehards hung out at the beach wrapped in blankets. We sang Christmas songs and had pumpkin pie for dessert and pretended that it was December (I’m joking!). But it did feel like morning all day.
