La Strada

Today saw more settled weather; yesterday's snow thawing and going away. I've gotten into the habit, shared no doubt by many a blipper, of having my camera with me at all times - okay, most times. I grumble a lot, internally, about my commute but this morning it was a glorious journey indeed. The sun was shining, the cars kept moving. My camera was on the dash so I flipped it on and took this snap so when I look back at this year of my life I'll have fond memories of my daily commute round the Edinburgh by-pass - rather than remembering it only as an unending sequence of frustration, wasted time, wasted money, anxiety, pollution...

I like Fellini's notion that a lot of life happens on the road, not just at the destination. However, I'm sure the traffic wasn't quite so bad when he made his movie.
