Titan Crane, Clydebank and Erskine Bridge

Taken at work today from the second floor. Probably standing in the exact spot where John Brown & Co built many of the worlds best known ocean-going vessels, ships such as Queen Elizabeth, QE2, Queen Mary, Lusitania, HMS Hood and Repulse. Solid and dependable, hence the phrase "Clyde-built". The college is built on an area known as Queens Quay, appropriately.
Unfortunately the windows don't open fully so two layers of a double glazed unit were involved. No longer a working crane lifting large marine engines etc into liners, it now has visitors who pay to get a glorious view up and down the river Clyde.
In the ship-building hey-day the crane driver would be up there all day and if he wanted a sunny lunchtime or tea break would just turn the massive structure around to suit!
A lift is available; my advice is use it!
