Emerald Hues

Another great morning for damsels.

I was even pleased to see this female banded demoiselle after seeing a male yesterday. I took my macro lens to see how easy I would fine hand held shots and I was more than pleased with the detail. I do find it a heavy lens so thought I'd end up with blurry images but the fail rate wasn't too bad. So I will be using it much more now.

The extra is of an Alder fly. It's not the prettiest of creatures but I love their wings, so was very interested to see this one with it's wings outstretched. I've only seen them folded along their abdomens before.
