Summerlee Museum, Coatbridge
A day spent over in Coatbridge, to visit some of our North Lanarkshire relatives - we all headed to the Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life and had a grand afternoon looking around all the exhibits ...
... the tram (as above), which was in active use throughout this afternoon, was different from the one I saw here a few years ago. Don't think the museum is short of tram-stock, as within the grounds there's a *huge* industrial shed with a vast array of vehicles and machinery contained therein!
And given my own 'Airdrie High School years', I can't resist posting the couple of extras which show detail of a 'Gibb & Hogg' Airdrie Locomotive ... you can read more about the specific vehicle here.
Would really recommend a visit to the Museum.
An excellent day, had by all :-)
