Drama in the Sky

After what seems like weeks of sunny weather we woke up this morning to the sound of the forecast rain.  The garden really needed a good soaking so we were a little disappointed when it rained for about 15 minutes and then stopped. 
We needn't have worried as there were many showers in the day and now the garden is thoroughly watered and all the water butts are full.

Between the showers we had really bright periods with lots of sun, and then a blackness in the sky would come floating our way again.
I stayed home while Jan headed off to town and before the first really heavy shower began I managed to get our dodgy lawnmower going and cut some grass before rain stopped play.
A bit later in the day, in another dry period, I wandered the garden and did a few small jobs, as I admired the first of the peonies, on flickr.
Otherwise the day seems to have slightly drifted by but sometimes a rest day is required.
