Thornbridge Hall

I’ve been looking at how much use I’ve had for various memberships I pay on a regular basis. The National Trust gives me great value for money. On the other hand, I’ve let my Barbican membership lapse as I am not going down to London as often, and their members lounge hasn’t been open on the last few visits (pre lockdown).

I looked at my Royal Horticultural Society card and realised I’d hardly visited anywhere. I decided to renew and start getting my money’s worth.

I went to the Bluebell Arboretum on Saturday and loved it.

Today’s adventure was to Thornbridge Hall near Bakewell. Wonderful too.

I spent a while chatting to the gardener near the house. He said that they’d all been furloughed for a full year and when they came back …….the weeds !!!!!!!!!!!!   I can just imagine.

Glorious weather and friendly people, all respectfully distancing. Definitely an interesting and beautiful estate to visit.
