‘Trunk’
Went for a walk in the Botanics in Edinburgh this morning, with my son who had the day off.
Less warm and sunny than the last couple of days, but we had the garden almost to ourselves and there was certainly no sign of rain!
Spent some time wandering round some of the permanent art collection, including Reg Butler’s cast bronze sculpture ‘Girl’ and a Slate Cone by Andy Goldsworthy, featured in the extra photos. (I am old enough to remember my excitement when the former was installed in front of Inverleith House in the early 1960s, shortly after it became the Museum of Modern Art for the next quarter century!)
Many of the works on display link art and nature and, not far from Inverleith House, we came across the subject of today’s main picture.
I have called it ‘Trunk’. Just look at it for a bit….
