Spectating

This is what I've become.

Every Friday morning this magazine drops though my letterbox (unless it's Easter weekend when; aware that the posties are less inclined to deliver on "Good Friday" it arrives on a Thursday - now that's service for you...)

Yes, I know that it's Conservative in its leanings and yes, Rod Liddle writes for it and yes, there are entire estates for rent in Tuscany in the holiday section while the David's Pics brood "holiday" in their own house in Edinburgh BUT I crave its arrival like Tom craves Jerry.

First port of call is "Taki" and his "High Life" column - a life I'll never lead but it's fun to dream, then Jeremy Clarke and "Low Life"which I think used to be written by Jefferey Bernard before he became finally "unwell." There's even a regular piece by ex-Blur band-member Alex James.

And don't get me started on the book reviews...

My liberal leanings struggle with it all but right here, right now this is the highlight of my week!

(Did I mention that as it's printed on glossy paper you can take it into the bath...?
