Grey Heron

I went to the part of the loch where the young one has been hanging out. It was nice and quiet and she was straight over (the shot is of her landing). I had given her about half a fillet when a couple of women approached, but stayed a distance back. They had never seen anyone feeding a Heron before and asked what I was feeding it. I told them it was fish and they stood a little bit longer saying how amazing it was, then moved on. Then the geese started to gather and people appeared from nowhere and started to feed them and the goslings, as more and more geese turned up. There were more people around than I had seen in a while. The young one got a bit nervous and took off to the branch of a dead tree a bit back from the shore. She was watching me and what was going on. After about 5 minutes it became clear that nobody was moving. The young one must have got bored let out a call then flew off to the wooded island area in the middle of the loch (I guess that if she is living off minnows the fillet and a bit, I gave her would still be like a feast). I went round the loch a couple of times but she never reappeared.
I have a plan for tomorrow. I will take a lot of my bird food and throw it at a clearing about 50 yards from where I feed the young one, that way we may get some peace.
