Closer

Got even closer to the hare that lives near the path on my walk with Elvis. This is not the one that I think became supper for the buzzards - that is in a field further away. I have been mostly maintaining/repairing the pool pump and filter. Emptying the sand from the filter is laborious and hot inside the pump house. The pump has now been sent to have its seals replaced, so no pool filtration for the time being until we get it back. The ‘sand’ in the filter is now more glass-looking than ‘day at the beach’. Hopefully when I can get it going again it will work better.
Warning!!
The extra pic is of a deceased bird. If you are sensitive about that, don’t look closely.
A thud on the patio doors happens regularly. Almost always the bird recovers and after a short while looking a bit stunned, it flies off. So far we had only seen blue tits and great tits do this. They come to the patio to steal dog hairs from the rug outside for their nests and get confused with the garden reflection in the glass. This one was a first. Sad that my closest and best picture so far of a nightingale is of an ex-bird. Pretty isn’t it.
