spring is coming (5?)

With this cold weather and all the delights it brings, I felt the need to go out to the garden and check that spring is still coming. That all we were experiencing was a short pause.

We built our house on an old, neglected garden and I am slowly getting round it all. The process is called 'a project' - it will take some time. Because of the neglect and our building work, there aren't that many plants left to be looking out for. One exception in Fritallaria Imperialis or Crown Imperial.

I noticed it was stirring a week or so ago but I cannot believe the growth it has put on in the last week and thought it worth recording as it came through the debris of last year. Apparently. it has a scent reminiscent of a fox and so helps keep rodents away.

Spring is still coming but winter has not gone quite yet.
