100 ABSTRACTS - NUMBER 61
Mr. HCB said last night that he wanted to get up early this morning, so he was up and out in the garden before 6 o’clock and I was up just a little later.
So far between us this morning we have:
Watered the whole garden using water from our five butts, which are now empty
Collected and disposed of lots of slugs - you can see Mr. HCB in action in the collage!
Watered in the greenhouse
Taken numerous photographs of the various flowers - see extra collage
Shovelled pea shingle to fill holes in the path near the greenhouse
De-sludged a large water butt but we need a child to crawl in and push some wire through the tap as Mr. HCB says his shoulders are too big! Any offers?
Sent various emails and WhatsApp messages
Taken electricity and gas readings and sent them to our providers
Mr. HCB has had breakfast
Planned our evening meal
Who needs to go to the gym when you have a green gym in your garden for free? Now it’s time for a rest in a cool part of the garden and breakfast time for me - I think it’s going to be another hot day today.
My Blip today is one of the Alliums we have grown this year, and we are so thrilled at how they have flowered - they weren’t expensive either, but just packs we bought from Wilko. We have never grown them before, but they are so beautiful, and this is SOOiP, but I have just cropped it and added a frame using my Photoscape X app on my iMac.
I decided to use this abstract from nature as Number 61 in my 100 Abstracts challenge, which I am doing to raise awareness of the Mamie Martin Fund,, which helps girls in North Malawi to gain their School Certificate at their secondary school and then go on to further education.
NDACHITANJI was a pupil at Elangeni Secondary School. She was given a Mamie Martin Fund bursary after her parents approached the School Management to say they could not afford to pay her school fees. They were delighted when Ndachitanji was given the bursary as this freed them from worrying about how they were going to get their daughter through her secondary school education.
After she left secondary school, Ndachitanji did her teaching practice at Endongolweni Primary School in the Northern part of Mzimba and hopefully she has now qualified as a primary school teacher. Another wonderful example of a good role model in her community.

P.S. Please visit new Blipper, Silmariel, and show her some Blip love. She has joined on my recommendation after I posted in a Facebook page and mentioned Blip - I do try to get the word out there!
