Grey Heron
I was a bit later getting to the loch today but could see the young one on the other side of the loch. It is quite overgrown on that side and I didn't think she could see me. She was looking in my direction but I was partially hidden by trees. I saw her take off and land on top of a tree near the middle of the loch. I made my way round to her usual spot but there were 2 greylags on the prowl and I did not think she would come over with them around. I was about to walk further round to another clearing when I was aware that she had just landed near the spot where the greylags were. I quickly got her fish out and she retreated into the water to get it. I had just started to feed her when the two greylags came right round beside us. I expected her to take off but she just stood waiting for more of her fish. I ended up throwing it over the greylags and into the water for her. One of the greylags hissed at her but she just stared it out and it retreated and stood next to the other one. I finished feeding her then waited a bit and took a couple of photos and left her standing as the greylags wandered off.
