Male Blackbird ( Turdus merula )

Today Clickychick had arranged to meet Pixelfoto and G at Melkinthorpe Nurseries.  We arrived early and grabbed the only table on the balcony that seated more than two.  After coffee we had a very nice lunch.  All the time we were on the balcony this Blackbird kept visiting.  Round our feet, on the balcony rail, on the chair backs at the table.   When we had finished eating it cheekily nipped on to the table and grabbed a morsel from a plate.

The  blip was taken while it was sat on a chair back and between the occasional burst of sing.

After lunch we enjoyed a long amble round the nursery and equally long chat.   Of course a great number of flower shots were taken.  As always CC managed to find two plants she wanted.  Being a bird man the portrait of the "Blackie" appealed to me.
