River of Flowers

Tuesday: #30DaysWild

Globe Artichokes - dramatic and beautiful garden plant which is so useful for the wild life. I mentioned watching a sparrow eating seeds from last year’s artichoke flower heads, sparrows also use the dead flowers as nesting material. Bees, butterflies and other insects will be enjoying the flowers in a few weeks time - the flower buds are also a delicacy though I never remember to try them!
Today’s gardening job was to plant the courgette “All Green Bush” - the soil from last year was bone dry, soaked it a few times and added some fresh compost.
Ran out of steam this afternoon and did some reading, need to conserve some energy for tomorrow ...
Temperature around 20°C all day, wind picked up this afternoon and it’s very blustery :-((
Quick chat with The Sailor this morning.
Stay safe & healthy & happy everyone :-)
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
