Cool evening, hot air

The highlight of the day was this evening’s second meeting of allotment holders to consider the next steps.

At the first meeting plotholders had many questions and queries about the Council’s plans to move us off our plots and onto a new site.

An allotment working group collated all the questions putting them to the Council. We listened to their answers this evening and were underwhelmed by their response. After some too-ing and fro-ing we agreed to holding a vote on a motion to oppose the Project. Any further questions and answers will only give the Council confidence that we want to negotiate with them. A vote to oppose would send a clear message.

All everyone wants to do is to tend their plots as an antidote to pressures we all face. Fighting the Council is the last thing we want to do and is poisoning how we are feeling when we’re there.
